The topics of energy and climate affect the people of our region – and their future quality of life. Our fossil fuels are limited, and climate change presents a real threat to us. The discussion about the future of energy for Kaiserslautern is an important part of the public debate, because Kaiserslautern will not be spared from the global megatrends of climate change and the shortage of raw materials. The Kaiserslautern Energy Forum intends to provide the necessary space for discussions with experts on the subject of the energy transition.
Looking Back
In 2009 we organized the Kaiserslautern Energy Forum for the first time. Both then and now, we knew that it was enormously important to deal intensively with the energy transition and improve public understanding of the subject. The forum has taken place every year since then: always with top-class participants and always with a view to the energy supply of the future.
Forum Objectives
- We want to promote substantive discussion of the energy transition and implement our findings in Kaiserslautern and its environs.
- We want to initiate and promote practical ideas, initiate pilot projects, and establish networks.
- We want to enable and promote the active commitment of the various forces in our society.
